WEBINAR ON DEMAND
By 2024, the number of servers shipped to edge locations servers will double, unlocking new opportunities for innovation and for new market entrants. Top edge computing use cases—such as manufacturing process automation, immersive experiences, behavior monitoring, gaming, smart cities, and autonomous vehicles—need compute moved closer to the end user, due to latency, data gravity, and/or privacy requirements.
The move to the edge is giving rise to a new distributed computing ecosystem that spans cloud provider (Cloud SP), communication services provider (Comm SP) and enterprise on-premises locations. Edge computing use cases will be realized through many workloads being distributed across this compute ecosystem, making the network, especially as 5G is deployed, vitally important in delivering a successful user experience with security.
